It’s been a busy few weeks. I have a few pieces all in various stages of the painting process. This image is the under-painting for an illustration that will hopefully serve as a sample in my portfolio that will be in line with the Magic the Gathering card game.
For this illustration I am taking one of my favorite Magic cards (Keeper of the Mind by Matthew D. Wilson) and doing my own rendition of it. I don't really have any villains yet in my portfolio so I decided to make her a bit more sinister. So this will be my Cerebral Inquisitor. As for the color scheme I am going to try to stick to a color scheme similar to what the original card possessed. I am still unsure of what to do with the knight's head. I want to see the blood dripping down from where her claws pierce his skin, though I am just a bit nervous about leaving it a plain bald head. I may put some sort of warrior tattoo on his head or maybe some sort of magical effect tearing at his skin. I'll be sure to post updates as this one progresses. As always any feedback or input is greatly appreciated.
