GenCon 2011 Coming Soon!

I would like to take this opportunity to let you all know that I will be at GenCon 2011, August 4-7, selling prints and sketchbooks of my art in the artist alley. Last year was my first year ever going to GenCon. I went as a regular attendee and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This will be my first year as an exhibiting artist. For the last couple months I have been busy making new work, getting prints ready, and reading up on how showing at conventions works. I have been looking forward to this since last year and am both very nervous and very excited. The nerves/excitement are building with each passing day as Gen Con draws ever closer. Only 18 days left! Still so much to do: a few paintings still to finish, more prints to order, a banner to design and have printed, potential postcards to make. It feels like finals week back in college sprinting like mad to get everything done in time. As things come together I’ll be sure to post pics of all the convention prep in case anyone out there is curious about what is going into it all.

This is a cropped sneak peek at the bard and barbarian piece I have been working on. The piece keeps growing in size and by the time I am finished this will be the largest piece I have created since my college days. In the future I will definitely be working smaller to speed up production time, plus making pieces in access of 30” especially when digitally painting portfolio pieces to be viewed on a computer monitor is just not necessary. Due to its size and all the activity in the composition I intend for this piece to be the large piece that will hopefully draw people to my table to see what’s going on.
